ClamAV won't install or go away?

Running Mepis Linux,i have been having trouble with clamAV of late.i have 4 little clamAV icon's in my task bar with a RED ARROW through them. ok, i (thought--maybe not) updated to the latest 88.1 version. But everytime i boot they come up saying that "ClamAV is out of date"!

so i thought i need to uninstall and start over since these 4 icons won't go away. so i run apt-get remove clamAV. bam, it's gone, i thought.

So i restart (rebooted) and up they come again with a 5th one added.

ok, i give---anybody know what's up? the ClamAV site is not helping so far.....thx yall

if you rt click on each icon (launcher) and select "properties" you'll see the command they run. I suspect you have more than one clamav executable installed and they are messing each other up.

The ones running identical commands can be removed from the panel (leave one).

The install center "uninstall" process should get rid of at least one though...

You got rid of the identical launchers - leaving just one - and then uninstall got rid of clamav? Well... that worked better than I thought it would...

sorry simon, i was thinking i was on the Mepis site, of which i closed out this problem.

i un-installed with apt-get AND in synaptic. logged out. re-installed with "apt-get install clamav". this time i SAW the c urent update being installed. I ran a virus scan with no virus's. then i went down and turned off "enable update" (red arrow) for each one. then exited each one individually. re-started, an only one clamav was there updated to the minute.

i still havened figured out Dazuko. when i try to load it it says not available. anyway, sorry for the confusion,....
