I installed clamav as part of the qmailrocks package and recently upgraded it via apt-get
However now I'm wondering if I have two versions of clamav installed. When I do a whereis I get the following
Quote:
nix:/etc/clamav# whereis clamav
clamav: /etc/clamav /usr/include/clamav.h /usr/share/clamav
|
and what I've noticed is if I go to /etc/init.d/clamd stop it'll claim it stopped the process but I can still see the service running under ps aux and if I try and start it it will say it's already running.
I also see clamd.conf and freshclam.conf files in more than one location
Quote:
nix:/# find / -name *clam*.conf
/usr/share/doc/clamav-freshclam/examples/freshclam.conf
/usr/share/doc/clamav-base/examples/clamd.conf
/var/lib/ucf/cache/:etc:clamav:clamd.conf
/var/lib/ucf/cache/:etc:clamav:freshclam.conf
/etc/clamd.conf
/etc/freshclam.conf
/etc/clamav/clamd.conf
/etc/clamav/freshclam.conf

What really has me wondering is this:
Quote:
nix:/# clamd -V
ClamAV 0.83/1166/Mon Nov 7 11:01:45 2005
|
however when I check for updates I see:
Quote:
nix:/# /usr/bin/freshclam -l /var/log/clamav/clam-update.log

Do I have multiple versions installed, and if so how can I fix it so the correct version is being run, but by the qscand user?
