ClamAV Features

I installed ClamAV on both Linux and Windows. I have few questions regarding this Open Source AV:

1.) I was able to configure Windows to send an email to me for virus reports. How can I do it on linux?
2.) Does ClamAV does not have a real-time scan like the famous AV such as Trend Micro, Norton, Sophos?
3.) Can ClamAV disinfect files with virus? I don't know if the software is capable of doing it but I don't think Clam is disinfecting the file because it only moves the file to the quarantine folder.

Is it really worth it to use ClamAV than other commercial AV?

The question is 'is it really worth using AV in Linux?'. If you're running a mail gateway or a file server accessed by Windows users then its probably a good idea. If you're just looking for a Norton-Antivirus for your Linux desktop then its rather pointless. Also there's no point in trying to 'disinfect' a file - you're not likely to be left with anything useful even if you could strip out the virus from a file and you wouldn't trust it anyway. In my experience programs like Symantec/Norton have never been able to 'disinfect' a file on any machine any time I've tried it - its just a me-to 'feature' put there by competing anti-virus companys.

Have a look at this thread on the same topic: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=374751
