Angry ClamAV 0.93.3 won't scan my gzipped tarball

I just upgraded from ClamAV 0.93.1 to 0.93.3 and noticed that it doesn't seem to scan a gzipped tarball I've got. With 0.93.1 it would scan just fine. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
Code:
win32sux@candystore:~$ file samantha.tar.gz
samantha.tar.gz: gzip compressed data, from Unix, last modified: Thu May 8 00:49:37 2008
win32sux@candystore:~$ du -h samantha.tar.gz
704M samantha.tar.gz
win32sux@candystore:~$ clamscan -v samantha.tar.gz
Scanning samantha.tar.gz
samantha.tar.gz: OK
