Cinnamon problems
 

I have a brand new HP dv7 laptop with 8gb ram, 500gb hdd, dual core cpu (AMD), & an AMD radeon 6430 graphics card. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on it without ever booting into Windows. I installed cinnamon 1.6, but it goes into fallback mode when I login. I can't get it to work in normal cinnamon mode for anything. I dont get this because I know the computer is more than equipped to handle the Cinnamon environment. Unity, KDE, & Gnome work perfectly. It is only Cinnamon that reverts to fallback mode.
Can anyone help with this????
