A lot of the Red Hat graphical tools are written for Gnome and tightly integrated with it, like the package installer. Unless you like to do everything from the command line, you'd have tools written for Gnome 2 trying to co-exist with a re-written version of Gnome 3. CentOS is trouble enough if you try to use Xfce!
