cinerella in slackware? possible??


i'm thinking of grabbing cinerella..

i did dl it but it seems all they have are rpm's
i tried to install the rpm on slackware but a humongous load of packages are missing, and i did try to get those other dependencies but those packages also needed other packages.

so what im gettin at is....

has anyone installed this on slackware 10?? could you please help me out?

You could probably build it from source, though you will most likely need to build a few prerequisite libraries and apps to satisfy the requirements. Cinelerra is quite the nifty video editor and I had a way easier time with it than Adobe Premiere. I haven't built it on my slack box yet, but it is on the to-do list.

Give a source build a try and see what you come up with.

Did you use rpm2tgz then install or just straight from RPM?

Erm.. I built it from source on slack8 (I think - that was a while ago).

I'm not that comfortable throwing packages into my setups as I like to build to suit my particular requirements, as well as just play with the builds in my home directory before I commit to a full-blown install.

If you have your heart set on a package build - try google-ing for 'Cinelerra, Slackware package' and see if you can find someone who has built one for your particular target.
