Cinelerra will not load.
After installing Cinelerra video editing software, I am given a splash screen only. The program does not load. When attempting to load Cinelerra from the command line, the follwing message is displayed:
Cinelerra is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License,
and you are welcome to change it and/or distribute copies of it under
certain conditions. There is absolutely no warranty for Cinelerra.
Aborted
Has anyone else had trouble getting Cinelerra to run?

I'm having the same problem on Mandrake 10. Would like to get this software running, never even seen what it looks like 'cause it aborts at startup.
Even Google didn't give any answers...

Try running "strace" on it (the prog as its argument). This will give you a lot of debug output. Generally I look for missing libraries and what not. This isn't the most helpful thing in the world, and takes some know-how to intrepret. Did you install a binary package (RPM, DEB, etc.)? If so, you might want to try compiling from source instead.

Hmmm, I think I used the RPM. I may try compiling from source.
Never used strace, I'll try that just to have another useful tool.
Thanks.

Did you finally succeed in using Cinelerra, I had the same problem as you reported when installing the RPM, and failed to compile it. I'll try to compile it again, but it seems to be quite hard! (found some info in french at http://www.funix.org/fr/linux/main-l...tallation-cine)
