Cinelerra Error

I just installed installed JAD on my computer (in case it might have something to do with it, it's not the only OS on my computer) and I tried running Cinelerra. It seems to work but for some reason when I open it an error message comes up with the program. It reads:

void MWindow::init_shm(): WARNING: /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax is 0x2000000, which is too low.
  Before running Cinelerra do the following as root:
  echo "0x7fffffff" > /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax

What does this mean and what can I do to fix it. If this is a dumb question, sorry but I really don't know. When answering keep in mind that I am still fairly new to Linux. Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Cinelerra needs more memory. The solution is given in the message.

This can also be found in the Cinerella documentation (15.3 FREEING MORE SHARED MEMORY).
