Church bell system software suggestion?

Hello all. I am trying to set up a computer based church bell sound system for my church. Basically it will be playing a sound at prescribed times during the day through an amplifier and speaker system. With the option of special sounds done manually on demand.
I am using Linux Mint.
Any suggestions on software?

http://www.linuxclues.com/articles/15.htm was a page I found (I googled for "use crontab to play sounds" by the way - just remove the quotes) and it seems to do what you need. Make sure you read up on and understand what crontab can and cannot do though so that you don't end up with a call to evensong at 6am!

Maybe use real files of recorded music then play at cron times? I think that any faux sound would suffer. There may be some apps that have that either as an add on or included. I know some drum software has that sort of feature. I think hydrogen uses real samples.

Thanks for those suggestions! I am still reading about the Cron Jobs. I think this may work. And yes, need some good bells, not fake sounds.

Thanks again!
