Chromium not refreshing by js on Website anymore

Chromium Terminals on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (server) not refreshing (js on website) anymore

Until recently, the terminals showing a website from server updated (refresh JS code on website) every 6 hrs like clockwork... since a few weeks, I still see the terminals (actual repo Chromium Version on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS) contacting and loading the webpage from server every 6 hrs like clockwork, but the content shown on the terminal screens is not refreshing anymore

I have to manually access the terminals via remmina and do a manual refresh F5 or Shift+F5)...also rebooting the terminals work.

I wonder what the issue could be, can only have something to do with the many updates coming in ...

Do you have an idea?

Also: could it be that waiting updates (Ubuntu/Linux) block a refresh of the browser somehow?

Am really lost here, since the terminal does reload the (changed) page from server as it should every 6 hrs, only it does not refresh on tzhe terminal browser...

Thx a million

Dan

no, and no.

all in all, you need to explain how you made what(?) reload every six horus in the first place.

Hi ondoho,

thank you so much...sorry, will try to explain better:

1. I run several terminals based on Ubuntu Server (DE added on top) based on the last Ubuntu LTS ... on those terminals Chromium autostarts showing a webpage
2. the code in this webpage contais a JS code to reload the page every 6 hrs
3. that worked great until recently, now it sometimes works (the auto-refresh), and often it does not and I need to use remmina to remotely press F5

I wonder what that can be...nothing changed except for all the updates in between ... or if under certain circumstances a waiting update stops the refresh

I do see on the server log that the terminals DO contact every 6hrs...only they often do not refresh the local cache it seems

My admin suggested a "memory leak" on Chromium and to move to FF

That means a lot of redo and research..so perhaps someone else has an idea??

Thank you so much

Dan

my guess is this is purely chromium related (supposing the website's js is OK).
is it not possible to automate the page reload? either inside chromium, or "from the outside" (e.g. xdotool).
