What makes you think I use YaST? I'm running Arch Linux.

Ad Blocking looks like it's covered. Guess I'll have to research which is best. I do have the extensions menu listed.

The oriental characters issue still remains. The characters show up find in firefox, so I know I have the fonts installed - but chromium's not using them.

Chromium mimics IE fonts as best I can tell. It's a drawback in my book since the fonts used by FF were hard to get used to, now I have this one program (Chrome) that is using different fonts that my eyes then have to adjust to again.
