Chrome crashes X

So running Debian.I cant install chrome from package manger because of dep errors.Guess that come with teritory running testing.I download deb 64 package fromr chrome site.Installed and had a dep issue.fix that by launching synaptic and fixing broken package.
Start chrome and either at start after a few secinds of using it ti crash's X and I have to log back in.
I used "google-chrome 2>errorsfile" to see what was happening.

Quote:
libGL error: open uki failed (Operation not permitted)
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
[7321:7321:0515/090622:ERROR:chrome_browser_main_extra_parts_x11.cc(57)] X IO error received (X server probably went away)
[7442:7449:0515/130622:ERROR:x11_util.cc(115)] X IO error received (X server probably went away)
I have AMD card with fglrx drivers installed.Other programs, games , dont crash syste to X.Si I would think If it were a OpenGL issue It would cause problmes with games,GL screen savers.Anything using OpenGL

So If you google "libgl error open uki failed (operation not permitted) chrome"

https://www.google.com/search?q=ibGL...hrome&safe=off

So it seems to happen to others.Posts as far back to beginning of 2013. But dont see any answers that seemed to work except to disable hardware e=acceleration in Chrome. That gets rid of X crash's but then when I watch Youtube videos after a bit sound gets all crackly. Doesnt happen in Iceweasel.

Dont know If it is a issue with Chrome or AMD's FGLRX drivers.I mean If it were the AMD drivers I would imagine it would be a system wide problem and GL screensavers and games wouldnt work.Dont play games on here but downloaded Steam and played Day of Defeat for a bit and was fine.
I mean If the problem has been around since early 2013 and only "workable" fix is to disable hardware acceleration I guess Ill have to either learn to live with Iceweasel or go to Opera.

Only errors I see In Xlog are .It a libgl problem but dont know how to fix it./usr/X11R6/lib64/modules/dri/?? There is no such directory on my system.Which explains why its not finding fglrx_dri.so

Ok last attempt before i say the hell with it.So it was looking for fglrx_dri.so in /usr/X11R6/lib64/modules/dri.Which doesnt exist . so I created directory and ln -s to whre the fglrx_dri.so was.In /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/

Quote:
ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/ /usr/X11R6/lib64/modules
Before when I ran LIBGL debug I got
Quote:
stratotak@Saber:~$ LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo > /dev/null
libGL: AtiGetClientDriverName: 14.10.2 fglrx (screen 0)
libGL error: OpenDriver: failed to open /usr/X11R6/lib64/modules/dri/fglrx_dri.so, error[/usr/X11R6/lib64/modules/dri/fglrx_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory]
libGL error: OpenDriver: failed to open /usr/lib64/dri/fglrx_dri.so, error[/usr/lib64/dri/fglrx_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or director
After ln -s I get

Quote:
stratotak@Saber:~$ LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo > /dev/null
libGL: AtiGetClientDriverName: 14.10.2 fglrx (screen 0)
ukiDynamicMajor: found major device number 247
ukiDynamicMajor: found major device number 247
ukiDynamicMajor: found major device number 247

ukiOpenDevice: open result is 4, (OK)
ukiGetBusid returned 'PCI:1:0:0'
ukiOpenDevice: node name is /dev/ati/card1
Now atleast its finding what its looking for but I get error messages a little farther down..UKI_ERR_NOT_ROOT
I dont know if this screwed permissions up.In searching for help read in amd post to try this and change premissions.
chmod -R 777 /proc/ati
So I dont know Id changing permissions could be causibg UKI_ERR_NOT_ROOT issue

Reinstall the AMD drivers then reboot. Something isnt right there with that missing file.

PS. Just use Firefox/Iceweasel (Opera abandoned the Linux version since they transitioned to the Webkit/Blink engine). It does hardware acceleration just fine. Chrome on the onther hand has it implemented badly and change stuff around.
After the last Chrome major upgrade, HW accel which btw worked fine until then just stopped working and i didnt change any settings (integrated AMD Radeon HD 8570D with the latest git OSS drivers).
Firefox/Iceweasel/Seamonkey on the other hand has no issues. If you want plain firefox, you can just download it from their site, it works just fine and even auto updates if you launch it from a user-writable location.
