Choosing the Desktop Enviroment from the console

when i start the X server using 'startx', it always does it with KDE.

i wonder how can i choose the desktop enviroment that i want to use (KDE, GNOME, etc) without using the mandrake's graphical session manager.

Not that I know of. Have a look at startx. It's a script. Have a look in there and you'll see what it does.

you can also create a file in your home-dir:

add the line for your window manager to it.

example for gnome: gnome-session
example for openbox: exec openbox

good luck.
