checkinstall now only creating with doc files

used to checkinstall worked fine, but recently it is now only seeing the doc files such as html, etc.. and ignoring everything else, example of which means that files that need to go into /usr/local, etc.. are ignored and don't even get put in the package??

Inspect file /etc/checkinstallrc. Look for an option that causes files to be excluded from the package.

Everything is default:
