Checking file name length and directory depth before burning data CD/DVD

Is there any utility in Linux that checks a directory structure for compliance with IS09660/Joliet/UDF in terms of file name length and directory depth?

In Windows I use ImgBurn to create backup data discs, and it automatically checks files and directories for compliance with whatever format I have selected prior to doing the burn. If there is a problem, I can cancel the burn and correct the structure before resuming the burn.

I haven't found anything in Linux to do this. I use K3B for burning, but I have also used Brasero in the past, and it seems they don't do any checking of the file name lengths or directory depths. Finding out that the directory structure is not compliant with, say, the Joliet system only after I have burned a disc is a bit too late.

Thanks

The Linux DVD/CD burning programs I have used (K3B and Brasero mostly) do this automatically. If necessary, they pop a message to change the file names to comply with joliet descriptors. I've gotten the message many times.

I'm not sure, but this may depend on whether or not you have selected to have the disc readable by Windows, which is an selectable option with those programs.

Thanks for the quick response.

In K3B, there is a warning about file name length, but there is no option to allow me to correct the directory structure before proceeding.

There are two options provided for Joliet file name lengths, for example: allow K3B to shorten the file names, or disable Joliet extensions. Selecting either of these causes the burn to continue.

K3B's automatic renaming causes problems when the burn includes files containing relative urls to other files in the backup.

I would like something that allows me to manually correct the problems before continuing, and this does not seem to be an option.
