checkgmail permission problem

Hi all,

I am trying to use checkgmail in a Ubuntu Feisty Fawn + Compiz Fusion. When I try to execute it checkgmail says that there is a file missing and gives "line 1030" error. If I do a "sudo checkgmail" it works fine.

Any ideas?

Try running "strace checkgmail" and check the output.

Thanks for your help. Using the "strace" command I finally realized that the file /home/<username>/.checkgmail/prefs.xml was created but for some reason empty. I deleted it and I runned the program again.

Now everything is working.
