check hang reason


My Redhat EL 3 was just hang and re-started , I tried to read the /var/log/messages to check the reason but can't find any related information , can advise except this log , how can I check it ? thx

Please write clearly, and spell out your words...your question is hard to read and understand.

You say you have RHEL3, and it "hang and re-started". Did YOU restart the system, or did it spontaneously reboot? Were you able to reboot via terminal, or did you have to do a hard power-cycle?

Also, you say you can't find any related information in the logs. What do you mean by "can advise except this log"??? Did you look in it or not? Are you asking for other logs to check?

Without providing useful information, there's no way anyone here can help you. All you've said is "my system hung up and rebooted, can anyone tell me why?". Without seeing the logs, and knowing about the system and situation, there's no way we can tell you anything.

Is this person just sloppy, or is he/she simply lacking the skills to write proper English? One more reason to make completing the user profile mandatory!

i think it means
my redhat enterprise linux version 3 froze up and and restarted
and the OP wants someone here to look at the logs
