Chat software for Linux

Hello guys,

I would like to know if anyone would know a reliable free chat software I can use for my website? My server is run on linux.

I tried openchat, but was not happy with it. It does not have a admin tools or many features.

Thank you so much for your help.

What kind of chat? If you mean IM ( instant messenger ), then yes. Both gaim and kopete support AOL, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, plus more. All you need is an account on one of those servers.

Sorry, I was thinking client not server. Sorry, no help here. Only thing I ever installed related to it was the AOL IM server for solaris. Didn't do much with it though.

Thank you for your response.

I need to offer a chat service on my website just like yahoo or other websites do.
The same way I am using PHPBB to create a forum, I would like to do the same for the chat service.

Anybody???

Thank you again for your time
