Question Chat Server and web/java client

Hi all

Anyone know of a decent chat server application (pref Open Source) for the LAMP environment. Ideally would have a web interface but not critical. Great if it had voice

Jabber has a server, a client and a web client. You can also (so I am told) put your own logos/branding on the skin.

And Welcome to LQ

No probs - do you need the server/client for home or SOHO or enterprise use? Just a by the way, the people I work for have rolled out Jabber (server/client) for both internal and customer use. They are looking at testing and then using the web client.

Jabber

we are looking to install it for a client on their enterprise server.

If it proves a great plan we will roll it out for a few more clients

Cool - well, AFAIK from chatting with our people, Jabber is fairly easy to roll out, secure and use.

Good Luck with the rollout.
