Post Chat Program

Hello

I am serching for a chat program that works Peer-to-peer (that has no server)

This program should also be available in Windows?

Is there such a program?

The reason why I am searching for this is because I am at a University and they don't like the chatting. So if we use a peer-to-peer program they can't stop us.

We want Linux and Windows users to be able to chat. We are currently using Realpopup in Windows but their is no Linux Program that can send messages to Realpopup, as far as I know.

Hope someone can help me

Thanks
Derick

No, talk and ytalk are unix-specific; however, you can always ssh into a unix box running talk. (how you ssh from a windows box, I don't know, but there must be open source software to do it!)

ymessenger runs via a server afaik - something has to match up user names with current ips of participants!

talk and ytalk are designed for people logged in to the same computer to communicate afaik; I was assuming you guys are all logged into some university supercomputer, but re-reading your post with a fresher mind than before, I can see that is not the case.

You'll find a solution, no doubt!
