changing the shell font and colors
hiya-
im curious as to if i can change the shell font and/or colors in RH9....and by 'shell' i mean the black and white text only before gdm or any graphical interface at all just lookin for looks ;) |
are you talking about your terminal? if so what terminal do you use.
|
not a terminal program- but im not sure exactly what it is called :p
im speaking of the black and white text only screen where i log-in as my user, call up startx, and etc |
The program that you are talking about is bash. You can learn how to configure the bash font and colors by typing in:
man bash Once you work out the proper form of the bash command that you want to to enter you then have to find where the boot process calls bash to give you a login prompt. I think that is in one of the scripts in the /etc/init.d directory but I don't know which one, especially on Red Hat. |
