Changing the mouse pointers

Is there a way to change the mouse pointers from the default to something else? I would like to got to a white pointer as well as the same hand icon that windows uses when hovering over a link in a web browser. I tried looking around the the control center but couldn't find anything about mouse pointers.
Thanks
Ryan

Hi
there are several way's check these;
http://www.sbrady.com/linux/Mouse-Cu...iguration.html
http://www.hut.fi/u/pvsavola/decurs
http://themes.freshmeat.net/browse/982/?topic_id=982
for one method; these are changing your default
cursor.pcf.gz which contains your actual cursor.
Making use of the decurs program

The other is done with xsetroot, only works in managers
that dont put an own layer over the root window. Like in
Kde it won't work (according to the german article in linux-
user issue 07/2001, desktopia cursoritis)
man xsetroot
good luck
