Changing the Location of Digikam Collection

Mageia 3
I deleted the original location[GUI]
now no matter where I put them,, the initial prompt say ok
but the faults out when actually scanning the collection
I have the files on both a sd card & a fat32 formatted HDD

on a differnt install of M3 no problem
both are clean installs

I'm sure it will work if I start over, but I had this happen last year & finally gave up,
it would be nice to find out what is going on

there is a hidden folder with the rc file in it
on my kde4 desktop it is located in
/home/UserName/.kde4/share/config
/home/UserName/.kde4/share/config/digikamrc

the folder settings are in that file

it might be easiest to just rename it and restart digikam
Code:
mv /home/UserName/.kde4/share/config/digikamrc /home/UserName/.kde4/share/config/digikamrc.backup

that makes sense
I'm on xfce, had a little confusion finding the file
I'll give it a shot later & report back
