Changing Desktop Environments
Hi all,
The distro I prefer to use overall is PClinuxOS, but it only seems to come now wtih the KDE desktop and the Pan newsreader requires Gnome AIUI.
What's the best way to proceed to get Pan up and running again on my new PCLinuxOS installation? Is it possible I could download and install the MATE desktop and Pan would run with that? (if Gnome is no longer available, I mean).
cheers,
cc.

I don't know much about PAN or pclinuxos, but usually you can run any app on any desktop, as long as the the dependent libraries are installed along with it, which whatever package manager you use should do for you automatically. For instance, I run kdenlive (a kde app) on a non-kde system without any problems, but I did get a bunch of kde libraries along with the app.
