Changing default font in Java

how do i change the default font on Java apps
I want Arial. just like the JVM in windows

to get it in there at all presumably you would put ariel in
jre/lib/fonts and update fonts.dir
and make an entry for it in font.properties at the top
might have to alter other stuff in that file but for what you said mainly
Code:

fontset.default=\
-b&h-lucida-medium-r-normal-sans-*-%d-*-*-p-*-iso8859-1
