change window manager for VNC connection

Hello,

I am wondering if there is a way to disable beryl for VNC logins - say, to do a
Code:

metacity --replace
as obviously I am having bandwidth/cpu issues.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Jameson

Why not set up another user just for VNC and make a special group that your normal user and the VNC are the only members (equal read/write)? This VNC user would of course not have beryl running in its user space.

So far I have only known VNC to be able to interact with a pre-existing X session - the VNC viewer clients I use usually just ask me for my password to login to the existing login session. Is there a way to open a new X session?

Yes, here is a thread about it and a lot of other fedora setups: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/...t=firewing+vnc
