change to grub legacy from grub2

Since I prefer grub legacy over grub2, I was wondering if I install a distro that uses grub2, how much trouble would I run into by trying to switch to grub legacy?

I expect it would depend on the distribution. The link below explains it in Ubuntu and I expect the process would be similar for other distributions.
