Change KDEHOME doesn't work

Hi

I am currently setting up KDE as a corporate desktop. According to enterprise.kde.org/articles/korporatedesktop.php I have to change KDEHOME. If I do the following:

KDEHOME=/mnt/kde-share/
export KDEHOME

it will be exported, but KDE ignores it completely. "kde-config --path config" still shows "~/.kde/share/config:/opt/kde3/share/config".

I am using KDE 3.3.0 on SuSE 9.1, without the SuSE-KDE-Extensions.

Thanks for help,
Daniel

I think this is what you mean
Code:
*s_desktopPath = config->readPathEntry( "Desktop", *s_desktopPath);
go to ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals

scroll down to the section [Paths]
and add a line
Desktop=/mnt/kde-share

hope that works

No, that did not work. This just sets the Desktop root to be used. After login, the content of /mnt/kde-share is shown on the desktop.

What I need is to change the config path from ~/.kde to /mnt/kde-share. I was told to change the environment variable KDEHOME to /mnt/kde-share. But that does not change anything. "kde-config --path config" still shows "~/.kde/share/config:/opt/kde3/share/config". Perhaps, this is SuSE related. But I could not find anything in /etc/sysconfig or in YaST about KDEHOME.

Thanks for help,
Daniel
