Change graphic environment

I just installed SUSE 9.0 and when I restarted I realised that fxwm was the default graphic environment and not kde. How can I change it to kde through konsole?

If switchdesk is not installed (try running it) then I would suggest that you log out so that you are back at the login screen and then change it there.

Quick and dirty method:

in your $home directory you should have a file called .xinitrc-template

copy that file to the same dirtory and name it .xinitrc:
cp .xinitrc-template .xinitrc

edit the file with whatever editor you want, vi, emacs, pico....

delete all the text in the document

once it's all gone type:

'exec kde'

save and exit, and that's all.

PS: This works if you run 'startx' from the command prompt, if you are using xdm then you YaST is a good way to go.
