change ftp directory??
i got vsftp all installed and everything, i was just wondering how i would go about making it so i can upload stuff to my htdocs folder for apache.

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I use vsftp and it is documented fairly thoroughly. Check out their docs. As for accessing your apache webroot, make sure that the user you are logging in as has read/write access to documents and make sure they are not chrooted. Or you could add a system user that has the webroot as their home directory and make them chrooted their. On most boxes the webroot for that user is in their ~/ directory so that they can be safely chrooted there.

I would start with the vsftpd website for information or try proftpd which is a little better documented.

There are few things you have to carry, first give permission to your ftp-user (who will upload files) on htdocs directory and then in vsftpd.conf uncomment the chown_upload and even if you want for anonymous to upload in that directory then make htdocs world-writable and uncomment anon_upload in vsftpd.conf file.
