CGI+Apache Question. Urgently!

when I browse the install.cgi with IE, an error occur. the error in apache error_log is:
mod_mime_magic: can't read `/var/www/cgi-bin/install.cgi'
[Wed Jul 02 15:34:14 2003] [error] [client 172.31.106.46] Premature end of script headers: install.cgi

But I use command" perl install.cgi" , it is ok. It seem only couldn't be browsed in IE.

Thanks!

Chances are, something is being output by the script before the Content-type line.. it's very important for Content-type to be the first thing that gets output by the script. Although it's always a good idea to test a script by running it from the command line, this won't always detect permission errors, since the user running the script from Apache is different from the user of whom you will more-than-likely be running the script.

You might consider adding "use diagnostics;" to the perl script and running it again. This will give more verbose details, in the logfile, of what the problem might be.
