Welcome to LQ!
Have a look in/at/under $HOME/.config/
I use Xfce4 and I see my panels at .config/xfce4/panel/
Yours may exist in a similar location.
You could just re-create the bottom panel manually?

Gnome 2, CentOS 6.7 : /home/knudfl/.gconf/apps/panel/
If you have no "$HOME/.gconf/apps/, then you may have deleted it, when you deleted the panel ?
Please try "log out", and see what happens when you are logged in again.
If no luck, you can use this : gconf-panel-files-2.30.2.tar.gz
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7S...ew?usp=sharing
... provides .gconf/apps/panel/{ 3 folders + gconf.xml }

Hi,
I did not delete physically please.
I went to the bottom panel then Panel Options-> Remove this panel - by mistake...
Tell me step by step process to generate this, iam worried now a lot.
I logged out and logged in, rebooted all attemps are made, but there is no luck.
Keeping some others dump won't work, even i tried from my other machine , this needs to be regenerated.only

New Panel :
Right click on the top panel, and select `New Panel'.
... You can have four panels, top, bottom, right, left.
And move them around : Right click >> Properties.

You will have to re-create the items in the new bottom panel manually, sorry.
Do you have backups of your $HOME directory?

Empty panel ?
... You could try with $ tar xvf gconf-panel-files-2.30.2.tar.gz
... and then remove the surplus Icon`s, if any.
Also : It's very easy to add functions with "Add to panel".

when I used gnome2 and wanted to 'start over' without re-installing,
I'd just logout.
Ctrl+Alt+F1 and login as myself and
Code:
rm -fr .gconf .config && exit
then
Ctrl+Alt+F7 or F8 to get back to the gui login manager.
Default 'experience'!

as "Habitual" in post #8 said
you need to recreate the items on it
but if you NEED!!!!!! the DEFAULT and can not just add it back
as in it MUST!!!!! be the default
rename
~/.gnome2
and
~/.gconf
to
~/.gnome2.old
~/.gconf.old
and reboot
and log back in as you
now
all your settings will be back to the DEFAULTS but that is what you asked for
