cElementTree FC6

Good day,

Can someone please explain to me Y that after I updated FC6 I cannot use yum anymore...Quote:

# yum update
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

cannot import name iterparse

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.4.4 (#1, Oct 23 2006, 13:58:00)
[GCC 4.1.1 20061011 (Red Hat 4.1.1-30)]

If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to
the yum faq at:
http://wiki.linux.duke.edu/YumFaq

This is driving me crazy

thanks!

mart

Remove yum (and all related packages), pirut and python-elementtree then install from the media using rpm.

Example command to test removal;rpm -e yum pirut python-elementtree --test
remove the switch (--test) and adjust accordingly to actually remove the packages. The same basic example command by changing the switches can install; rpm -uvh

You have the information please use it. Like I said modify the the removal command (rpm -e the_rest) accordingly;

rpm -e yum pirut python-elementtree yum-updatesd system-config-kickstart

All have to be removed, the easiest way to do this is remove them all at the same time like the command example above.

Remember you have to re-install the packages from the media that you removed, for example;

rpm -Uvh yum-3*.rpm pirut*.rpm python-elementtree*.rpm yum-updatesd*.rpm
