cdrecord -scanbus error

i have append "hd=ide-scsi" in lilo.conf

and when i type
Code:
bash$>cdrecord -scanbus
i get an error, saying it can't complete operation.

i'm alittle stuck in what to do, i read everything on the net about, scsi emulation, cd burning, and supported cd/dvd burner.

i'm using slackware 9.1 with a 2.4.22 kernel.

can anyone shade some light on this situation, before i install the 2.6.7 kernel.

Quote:

Is that a typo or did you actually have that line without a letter after the hd ?

Something like this...
append="hdc=ide-scsi hde=ide-scsi"
