cdrdao

Trying to copy a vcd using cdrdao, source-device is my TOSHIBA dvd-rom reader, and device(burner) is a mitsumi 4x.

when I use cdrecord -scanbus , it shows that my mitsumi is at 0,0,0 so no problem there. My question is how about my reader? it's not shown in the scanbus list. Do I have to make both source-device and device mitsumi writer, I don't want that because mitsumi reads very slow...

Any other possible solutions?

some burner software can read from standard ide cdrom drives, but generally they do prefer using scsi-emulation even for readers. you can add the emulation by changing the append line in /etc/lilo.conf to cover the dvd drive as well. alternatively, just take an image of the disk with dd and burn the image directly.

Thanks, after adding the extra scsi emulation for my TOSHIBA DVD, cdrdao works perfectly now.
