I installed slackware a while ago and it did not detect my cd burner. I tried to go into /etc/fstab and fill it in manually but it says that there is an error. I think that the error is the device name I gave it, I gave it /dev/hdd. Is there another device I should have put instead?

Did you put in the lilo.conf the append = "hdd=scsi" ?

Make this command dmesg | grep hd and verify if is correct you cdrw...

After it do it in the console

mount -t iso9660 /dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrom, for exemple

Sorry Bad English
