CD ROM- Mounting

Mandrake Linux 9.1
KDE 3.1

When I click on either of the CDROM's Icons (e.g. CD-ROM mounted at /mnt/cdrom) Konqueror says "Could not enter directory /mnt /cdrom."

Also when I click on the removeable cdrom icon it says [even when I'm in root] "Unable to enter file:/mnt/cdrom. You do not have access rights to this location."

How do I access the drives?

What are the permissions on /mnt/cdrom?

ls -l /mnt
