Cd Read Problem
Hello To all;
Here is the problem i have a old laptop "thinkpad 770ed" that i put slackware linux on (10.0) the one with the 2.4 no upgrades well yesterday the cd drive started to act wierd when i mounted it i would do a "localhost:root#mount /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom " now i used to be able to mount fine and all it would tell me is that the file system was write protected however yesterday it started and it wont stop now i get a display that the file system is read only and also a new one "mount: medium not found" so i checked the cdrom drive and it was pluged in and i looked at the cd it was fine so i went to the kernel and with a "dmesg |grep hdc " i get this error "hdc: packet command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdc: packet command error: error=0x50
" and it cant seem to read any cd's now for the specs the cd drive is made by toshiba and the model name is "SD-C2002"
Thanks;
Bill
