cd emu not seeing devices


hi im having a problem with cdemu i installed it loaded the module and when i try to load a cue file it tells me that the device doesnt exist , i know it's there cdemu says its there waitring for be loaded and i chjecked /dev/cdemu the devices are there any help would be greatlyt appreciated im running slackware 9.1

Check the permissions on that device, you might need to change permissions for your regular users (chmod 666 should suffice).

i've tried that , it wont even work under root account i'm really not sure where to go from here
