cd burning problems no plugin found

alright im running ubuntu gnome and i want to make an audio cd. When i popped a blank cd i clicked audio cd and it opened serpentine. Then i tried adding some mp3 files and it said file not supported. So I installed gnomebaker and tried burning an audio cd there as well. When i tried to add music it said the plugin to handle audio/mpeg is not installed. What am I missing here?
