cd burning/eroaster errors

Hello,

Recently I have been receiving the following error when trying to use Eroaster. Other burning applications such as K3b work, but I really like eroaster because it will automatically convert ogg files to wave. Does anyone have an idea what this means?

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/eroaster/Application.py", line 755, in BurnWriterOptions
self.BurnCDNow()
File "/usr/lib/eroaster/Application.py", line 824, in BurnCDNow
cdrecord = cdrtools.cdrecord(channel, id, lun, self.devWriter.get_text(), self.cat.get_loglevel())
File "/usr/lib/eroaster/cdrtools.py", line 112, in __init__
self.__cdrecord_read_version()
File "/usr/lib/eroaster/cdrtools.py", line 236, in __cdrecord_read_version
for i in range(len(version[1])):
IndexError: list index out of range

Thank You
tsw

check which kernel (release) you are using. 2.6.8 and 2.6.8.1 had issues with CD burning (I know what it says in your sig, but I'm guessing that info is outdated!?)

Yeah, my sig is outdated. I am using a 2.6.8.1 custom kernel.mdk. It is a strange issue because other cd writing programs are working. In fact, eroaster was working with this kernel until I moved and set up my machine in a new apartment. And it is only eroaster that is bugging out. Anyway...Thanks for the response.

yes, k3b got updated in response to the kernel changes.

kernel 2.6.9 is out now, and I've heard some reports that burning is working fine again; other people have demented this, and I'm not going to try just yet...

Regards,

Samsara
