Capturing multiple video streams

Hi there,

I would like to capture four video streams on /dev/video[0-3]. So far I tried it with vlc. Unfortunately, vlc skips some frame while capturing which ends up in four videos, all with different length and duration.

This is the command I use so far to capture from one device:
cvlc --color --run-time=10 v4l2:///dev/video0 :input-slave=alsa://hw:0,0 :v4l2-standard=0
:std{access=file,mux=mp4,dst=/tmp/out.mp4}' --sub-filter marq --marq-marquee \"%D %H:%M:%S\" --marq-position 6

Does someone know a more reliable way to capture videos?

Btw. zoneminder is not an alternative, since it does not generate video on the fly.
