Capturing live streaming audio

On my windows machine, I set my replayradio program to record live internet streaming audio. It works on a timer and records an audio stream from 8 til 11 each week day. It then adds the audio to my itunes library where I transfer it to my ipod. Can this process be duplicated on linux? I have tried wine but the replayradio program will boot but not operate. I was hoping there was a simular program that could do this.

Quick thought is this. There are others.
Using xmms and set the output driver to Disk Writer.
Then create a text file and name it say stream.pls
Example of one below.
Then run the command ' xmms -p /home/username/stream.pls
To automate it, add it to your cron file.

Contents of stream.pls
Code:

[playlist]
numberofentries=1
File1=http://209.164.64.172:8010
Title1=(#1 - 165/550) NBOX RADIO: KMGX - The Best Mix of the 80s, 90s and Today
Length1=-1

This links talks about many ways to do it.
