Could you get vim help at all? For example if you do 'vim' without file name you should get 'welcome' screen, and then if you type ":help" you should get split window with the help on top. Do have it?

Well, for vim v7.0 on RH FC6, the docs are in : /usr/share/vim/vim70/doc
Try looking for the equiv on your system

Could you look if you have documentation in you vim install directory: something like: /usr/share/vim/vim*/runtime/doc. If you do, then try to open "help.txt" in this directory - this should be your help file.
