cant stream audio from line in

hi. Im trying to stream audio on a temporary internet radio station using dynebolic's live cd. I have a Sound Blaster Live!5.1digital sound card, and i am running icecast streaming server and MuSE. I can play a regular mp3 file and it will work just fine, but i cant get anything to stream from the mic or line-in when i click the "line-in" button... only, i dont want/need to stream files, i need to stream from a soundboard hooked up to the soundcard in my computer.

thanks

I've done this with Slackware using shoutcast, in fact I am at work listening to an am/fm reciever I have hooked up at home.

Can you listen to the device locally? That is plugged into line in and running through your PC speakers? I had to mess around with kmix to get the right combination in order to listen to it locally. Then in my shoucast I had to set the playlist to

Quote:

DSP:/dev/audio
DSP:/dev/audio

yes i can listen to it locally. I also have to mess around because i have a mic jack and a line in jack and i am using both. i can switch between hearing the line in and the mic, but i cant send either of their singals to MuSE to stream it. :( I tried to use your advice but unfortunately you cant add a device to the play list. At least i couldnt figure out how to do it. Does anyone know where/how/if there is a configuration file for MuSE that i can edit somehow to change where it gets its sound card input from?
