Unhappy cant start my X window!

hi i hev a trouble loading my x window, when i type startx my monitor just go blank and the indicator light was flickering. but it was before i change my, i think window manger from my default display (mdkkde or kde) to gnome.

im using mandrake 10.

how can i restore my previous window?

i hev tried to used switchdesk but i cant find it! i think i dont have it or it is not installed.

other similar thread cant help to solve my problem.

type in xwmconfig

choose a window manager and startx again

see if that works

i cant find xwmconfig, do i have to install it! im using mandrake 10

do a trick

create a new user #useradd username
#passwd username
then login to that user and tries to start X

may be it would work

Or pop open an editor and edit that funky .xinitrc file that's so beautifully nested in the home directory after you put it there. lol
