cant install Nvidia driver


i am new to lunix and have just installed suse 10.1 i cant get 3d surport for my graphics card (NVIDA fx 5600) i have downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia but i dont know how to get it to work iv tried use ing the command "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8762-pkg1.run" i was loggeed into root and used the "init 3" command and tried to get it to work from their. Also i dont know how to get back from the text based in GUI what am i doing wrong??

You haven't actually said what the problem is. Just saying you can't install the driver doesn't tell us much at all.

To get back to your GUI, you can either log in as your normal user and run "startx", or you can go back to runlevel 5 with "init 5" (as root).

and when i log into root and type init 5 i does not go back to the GUI

But you typed sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8762-pkg1.run! That's what the instructions on NVIDIA's site tell you to do .
