cant decompress libdvdcss

hey, i just recently downloaded the gzipped tarball of libdvdcss 1.2.1 from the videolan site. however i cannot decompress the file, it complains about not ending with the gz extension and not being a gzipped file. anybody ever have this problem before?

It may not be gzipped or the browser may have unzipped it. Try untarring it without the -z option. Like this:

tar xvf <file_name>

blatantly you're trying to play dvd's... make sure you give MPlayer a try. comes with it's own slightly adapted version of the dvd libraries.

If you used MOZILLA to download, it probably unzipped. I got it here .
