Is this my list? Does it look right to you? I don't know what else I'd be looking for.

In fact, you have only one server. Probably uncomment first rpm-src.

I uncommented the source line in the Red Hat 9 section and updated, then tried installing gtk2-devel.... same thing:

[root@RedHatLinux apt]# apt-get install gtk2-devel
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done

requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.

gtk2-devel: Depends: atk-devel (>= 1.0.0-1) but it is not going to be installed

If it is any help I have struggled through this ridiculous GTK2 business twice now with Mandrake 9.1. For some reason the name of the needed package never remotely resembles the name that the program is crying out for. I have just finally after a long struggle discovered that this:

libgtk+2.0_0-devel-2.2.1-2mdk.i586 RPM

is what is required in response to a cry for this:

Package gtk+-2.0 was not found

Would you credit it? Perhaps the Red Hat version of this rpm will sort you out. Good luck

That was just the start of yet another endless sequence of dependencies with weird names that bear no relation to what is asked for. I have found the best thing is simply to plod manfully through them, asking Google Linux each time for the whatever.pc file that is called for and hopefully someone will tell you what the package is!
